We areProducer of great wines since 1920
Pride for its origins and passion for the Sicilian land, tenacious and generous, able to reveal his kind side only to those who know how to love her and take care of her. The history of Feudo di Mezzogiorno and Polizzotti-Scuderi Family has its roots in these values, whose visible manifestation we find in the 80 hectares of vineyard located in Contrada Portelli, in the Trapani area.
The Estate was originally dedicated to the cultivation of wheat and cotton. Around 1920the first vineyards were planted.

WE AREOur Philosophy
Feet well anchored in Sicilian traditions and a view to the future, beyond the Egadi Islands that watch over the Estate. This is the way how Fondo di Mezzogiorno introduces itself today to his Italian and International customers. The passion for the Sicilian territory, the centenary experience in viticulture and the respect for their origins are combined with research, innovation, team work, curiosity to venture towards new horizons, to communicate our wines and introduce this corner of Sicily to the world.
All these elements, masterfully balanced create the inimitable synergy that enables Feudo di Mezzogiorno to produce extraordinary wines.
Feudo Di Mezzogiorno wants to become a spokesperson for landscapes, colors and local fragrances that embellish and make the Sicilian island unique in the world. So the we have chosen to cultivat e the autochthonous varieties of western Sicily being Grillo, Inzolia, Grecanico, Zibibbo. Obviously Nero d’Avola can’t be missing, and for the most intriguing Perricone.

We areTraditionalist
The international varieties are carefully selected: Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah have been able to interpret, in a very unrepeatable way , the richness and strength of the land that characterizes the estate of Fondo Antico.
The harvest usually takes place by hand and by machine from mid-August to mid-October. Grapes are pressed separately to obtain best quality from each parcel.
Tradition, heritage combined with deep knowledge of the terroir and state-of-the-art production techniques led the winery to be what it is today. The vineyards of Feudo di mezzogiorno are planted on a land of marine origin: The soil rich in calcareous deposits such As rock salt, gypsum, carbonates, sulfates, all elements that contribute to make the company’s wines are more tasty, salty and structured.
The vineyards altitude ranges from 50 to 250 m a.s.l. vineyards that are located at 250 m a.s.l. are planted on a calcareous land, which gives greater structure and elegance to wines, and good base of acidity. While the other varieties are planted at 50 m a.s.l., on a medium clay soil, helping us in making fresher and vigorous wines.
